How Long Will This Tabard Society Founder Last Against Trump?

Tuesday, March 3, 2009

When one Penn alum checks in on another Penn alum...

UPennDid you catch the very Penn alumni-filled Apprentice on Sunday night?

Donald Trump (W'68), Ivanka Trump (W'04) and Don Trump Jr. (W'00) were dishing out tasks to the new cast of The Celebrity Apprentice, which included Melissa Rivers (Tabard Founder, C'89).

And although he never made an appearance, Donny Deutsch (C'79) sent someone from his company with a very generous check to buy a single cupcake!

Watch below to see how much he donated and at what point his check finally made its way down to team KOTU!

The Snowday That Almost Was...

UPenn

Despite a big stowstorm that hit Philly yesterday, there were a lot of unhappy campers on my twitter feed page when they realized that Penn remained open: (the tweets will remain anonymous to protect the innocent  :)  )
"The University is Open and Operating on a Normal Schedule. that is some BS, upenn.edu"
"As of 2:45 am, UPenn is open on Monday. What has two thumbs and has to trudge through the snow to get to work tomorrow? This guy!"
"UPenn creates more trouble and inconvenience by staying open during snowstorms than they would create if they closed for the day."

If You've Got Musical Talent, Penn Needs You Next Week!

Monday, March 2, 2009

I just got this message from the Penn Band and wanted to pass it along to anyone (undergrad or alum) who wants to lend their spirit and musical (instrument) talent to the big Penn vs. Princeton game next week:
"On Tuesday 3/10 there is the Penn Princeton Home games in the Palestra.

Since it is during Penn’s Spring Break (WHY, Lord, WHY!?!?!) – we need help from anyone who is NOT going on Spring Break (alumni included) who still remember how to play an instrument.

If you fit this category and can come and play, please
a) Email board@pennband.net and then
b) Respond to Greer’s e-vite when he sends it to you!

Thanks, the Princeton Band is coming, let’s not allow them to take over the Palestra!!!!"
And check out the video above which will explain the history behind our whole rivalry with Princeton!
