DT Exclusive: He Gave Us a Script Page from Harold and Kumar 2

Harold and KumarToday writer Jon Hurwitz's (W'00) film Harold and Kumar Escape From Guantanamo Bay comes out in theaters. This of course is the follow-up movie to Jon's first film Harold and Kumar Go To White Castle.

Per Yahoo Movies, here's the plot:
"The same morning that Harold and Kumar eat at White Castle, Harold learns that Maria, the girl he lusts after, has set off for Amsterdam. The pair decide to pursue her so Harold can proclaim his love. However, an overzealous airline passenger mistakes Kumar for a terrorist, and the plane is diverted as the duo get stuck in a case of mistaken identity."

Jon Hurwitz
Jon (in photo to right) tells me "people should stay through all of the credits, because there is a little something extra at the very end -- Ferris Bueller style".

UPenn videosWatch this funny trailer & find out about the new "going bottomless" trend : )

Read the film's NY Times review and find out why Jon's film is referred to as "good-humored exasperation that never reaches the boiling point of political indignation"

Because Jon is a writer, I asked for a page from his script and he gave me one!

Set up: Harold & Kumar are thrown into Guantanamo Bay after being mistaken as terrorists for sneaking a bong onboard a flight to Amsterdam. Their parents are called into questioning by Ron Fox, the racist Executive Secretary from Homeland Security.

*Please note that views of the script are not the views of DT and are the property of Jon and New Line Cinema.

Pennalicious Profile: You'll Want To Tune Into His Next Show

Roy BankOver the past few days, we've been talking about Roy Bank (C'94), reality head honcho over at Mark Burnett Productions and now President of Merv Griffin Television.

I have mentioned that Roy oversaw such Mark Burnett shows as Apprentice, Survivor, RockStar and Contender...

Before Roy left, he not only created and executive produced Are You Smarter that a 5th Grader?, but he also produced another clever reality show that's sure to be a hit that comes out this summer on CBS.

More on the show here!

Read Part 1: "He's Way Smarter Than a Fifth Grader"
Read Part 2: "He's Now Running This TV Empire"
Read Part 3: "His Hollywood Beginnings and His Biggest Piece of Advice"

Roy's next show, Jingles, will have contestants concocting commercial jingles for real products.

Per RealityTVWorld.com:
"Each one-hour episode of the tentatively-titled series will follow a team of contestants who are given weekly advertisement-writing assignments before having to perform the catchy campaign they created. The products they're pitching could include anything from food or toys to a sports' team fight song or TV show theme. In addition to having to impress a panel of yet-to-be-announced judges and the studio audience, the contestants will also have to wow home viewers -- who will vote for their favorite following each broadcast to determine a weekly winner."
Clever and potentially cringe-worthy music WITH product placement?! I'll be watching for sure!

Roy's got some other shows coming soon but too early to talk about. But from what I've heard, these too are going to be some great programs!

UPenn Hey Day1995 Hey Day

UPennNext week, the Juniors will be taking part in the Penn tradition of Hey Day.

As I look through my pictures and videos from when I took part in Hey Day, every year I'm happy to see the tradition continue.

...Lots of red. Lots of bitten hats. And lots of drunkards.
